Are you a Smasher or a Popper?People tell us the most Jaw-dropping amazing personal things, and really helpful things - about all the time. After many years of listening we can share that unofficially/officially, our customers fall into two categories. DIY Smashers and Poppers. Huh?    Well, as you know, Lo-Lo Bars and To-Go Bars come in little round delicious smelling solid disks that pop out of the can. If you pop the bar out of the can, you’re a popper. But, if when the bar arrives, you dive right into smashing that bar into the can - well, you’re a DIY Smasher. Either way works because all that really matters is that it works for you. There is one side note. If you have ever left your bar in a very warm place and found that the disk is more of a suave, you are a smasher by default. The product is still good to use. Smash or Pop away - we want you to have it your way!  So, are you a Smasher or a Popper?

Mother Knows Best:(19:13)

This week we anwer two questions from the Ask Me Anything thread on FaceBook.

The first question is about out roll-out of the Head to Toe Project.

We have yarn support from Cascade Yarns and they have supplied yarn for test knitting preemie hats.

Jade from Geek Girl Crafts will be doing out photography and lay-out.

Patterns also need to be tech edited.

We are hoping to make the Head to Toe Project go global.

The other question is about how we deal with critical reviews, thinly veiled judgements, and nasty comments.

Jasmin references the Have You Filled a Bucket Today? book, and she loves Amy-Beth from The Fat Squirrel Speaks.

When Knitting Attacks:(34:39)

The Waters Edge has attacked Gigi repeatedly.

Holidays with the Knitmores:(36:07)

This week we talk about how to love your knitter. We think that having a secret board on Pinterest is a great idea. Also, we have a board with things we think are wonderful.

While winter brings feeling of nesting or hunkering down, it also means a picking up a piece or two of handcrafts. The oven works overtime for those holiday family favorites, quilters stitch just a tad faster to complete works of art before gift giving officially opens, and knitters dash to their local yarn store to squeeze in one more scarf or pair of socks for that last minute gift. As you are crafting wonders, Bar-Maids continues to handcraft yummy goodness for your skin ... all to to help you....even if you continue to create into the wee morning hours. Bar-Maids handcrafts their products with natural skin loving oils and butters; everything your skin needs to keep it soft and moisturized and nothing it doesn't. Since you use our hands a tad more in this season, let Lo-Lo help keep them moisturized. It's simple! Get your hands wet, shake the water off and get your Lo-Lo on before you pick-up needle, cookie cutter, or drop spindle.

sewing project bags. We have a tutorial with out modifications on Pinterest.

Surprise! Nothing went wrong this week. We will try to have content for this segment next week.

This week we are purloining "Ask Us Anything" from Maria of Subway Knits.

Jasmin refers to Judith Mackenzie's Gentle Art of Plying

Review:(48:57)

This week we are reviewing Vintage Design Workshop:by Geraldine Warner

We think if you liked the vintage fashions by Gretchen Hirsch this book is a phenomenal tool for adapting your knits.

Also, this would be a great resource for the Fit, Flatter, Feel Wonderful KAL (#FFFWKAL).

The author mentions pattern paper, and Gigi says that Swedish TracingPaper is quite similar.

Straw Into Gold:(55:29)

Gigi is planning to do #15in2015, spinning at least 15 minutes every night. She is enjoying spinning on her Jenkins Turkish Delight. She spun a bit on her Bosworth Spindle and found it challenging. She is also trying to spin on her Jenkins Lark Turkish spindle, but is being challenged by the fiber.

Jasmin sewed Gigi's drive band on her matchless. She thinks there may be directions on how to do this in the The Alden Amos Big Book of Handspinning

Jasmin is spinning her nutmeg colored fleece for her Pumpkin Ale sweater by Isolda Teague. This was inspired by the sweater that Leslie from the Knit Girllls knitted.  Also, our fleeces from the Monterey Wool Auction came back from being processed. Shari from Morro Fleece Works had offered a deal for #25 Days of Enabling, and the offer extends until February 1st.

Mother Knows Best:(27:30)

This week we answer questions out of the "What do you want to hear about?" thread about

how to deal with extremely long rows of knitting.

Jasmin enthuses about Hoxton's review of Merlin.

When Knitting Attacks:(33:14)

Gigi has ripped out her knitting on the Grinchy/Broken Ornaments socks, because the pattern she was knitting just wasn't talking to her.

Jasmin mentions C.C. from the Geeky Girls Videocast.

Purloined:(34:56)

This week we purloin ideas from other podcaster's end of year summaries.

The Geeky Girls are doing 52 in 2015, knitting 52 preemie hats in 2015. Gigi has finished two hats already.

She also was listening to Die Urbane Spinnstube, hosted by Distelfliege, who has decided to spin at least 15 minutes a day. So Gigi decided to copy this idea, and has been spinning on her Jenkins drop spindle every night.

Commuter  Jen is very organized and had this amazing idea of how to organize your ravelry queue to be able to search for the years finished projects instantaneously. Gigi put a divider in the back of her shownotes binder to write down projects as they get finished. Low tech.

What are your fiber goals this year? Inquiring minds want to know.

Review:(41:22)

This week we review Road Trip, by Alexa Ludeman and Emily Wessel

These are the ladies from Tincanknits, and we really like their designs.

Jasmin is doing the #IronSwatchChallenge LINK and has been steeking sock swatches on her Featherweight.

Jasmin looked on Kate Davies blog for a tutorial on machine sewn (was actually from Knitty.com, again, misattributed) and Crocheted steeks.

That weekend with the funny names is quickly approaching. You know Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday. Yeah, that one!.  Bar-Maids has always had ‘KILLER’ Cyber Monday specials and this year is no different except this year, their special begins on Black Friday. How special? A buy 1, get 1 free type of special. If you were to break it down, you could give 8 different people gifts and that is a whole lot of happy, soft, and smelling good. Bar-Maids ordered a good sum for this year but the quantities are limited. The games begin the day after Thanksgiving, as does the unveiling of the Buy 1, Get 1, and may the odds be ever in your favor.  Or in Bar-Maids case, may the odds be ever in your flavor.
