The If You give a Mouse a Cookie sweater for Rex is FINISHED! We mention If You Give a Mouse a Christmas Cookie and If You Take a Mouse To The Movies.

Jasmin mentions the OXO sweater dryer.

 

Jasmin finished Gigi’s cashmere scarf, and needs to full Andrew’s cashmere scarf. He bought a fancy lucite fulling plunger. Jasmin has Video One, and Video Two where she fulls some handspun yak. Then she will sew on the embroidered labels from Sterling, which Julie did the design for.

 

Gigi is knitting 2 pairs of Vanilla is the New Black socks. One pair is out of Patons Kroy, the other pair is for Sam, out of Regia in the Havana color way.

Also, she has picked some grey Regia, to make a pair for herself. They will need modifications for optimal fit.

 

Jasmin found an amazing sweater to knit from Tellybeanknits with Must Stash Yarn

 

Jasmin is knitting on her Tale as old as Time cowl. She is thinking of weaving Genevieve's scarf. Gigi is working on her Sockhead cowl out of Knitcircus gradient Greatest of Ease 150, merino, nylon, 600 yds.

 

Gigi rinsed the yarn for the Russell Street Shawl and balled it up.

She rinsed the yarn for the Joker and the Thief, #BigBadBergalong, balled it up

She is working on the Purlbreak cowl.

Gigi sewed shoulder seams with Genevieve. Couldn't see what she was doing, seams turned out crooked. Pulled the seams out. She stitched the rows for setting in the sleeve. Set in one sleeve. She finds that she needs to do more sewing.

Jasmin has swatched for her Frozen Hearts sweater (modified Frost sweater by Lisa Ross).

She was listening to the "Behind the Wool" podcast. She has found an additional use for her giant ball of Aunt Lydia's crochet cotton.

We worked on stay stitching together. Looking at Burda instructions, this pattern does not have a lay out schematic, sewed pleats into front of dress, sewed center back seam, prepped for zipper.

Gigi was working on Sam's socks during knitting group, decided to make the legs an inch longer. She totally forgot that the heel starts 2 inches sooner on these than with afterthought heels. Now they look like knee highs. She finished the heel turn, and now she is 5 stitches short.

Jasmin is excited about her knitting! She loves fair isle. She is test knitting a hat with snowflakes, and Rex has requested one, too.  And Genevieve has requested a sweater to go with the sweater as well. Jasmin mentions gradient kits from Black Trillium.

The neon green, yellow, tomato red, orange, petroleum blue, dark lavender and sapphire blue are done.  She was working on teal. Two more colors are left. She ran out of background grey. (This project is on hold until we get more yarn.)

Gigi started weaving in ends. 4 ends per piece..

 

Sam asked for a hat to match his beard.The yarn is Alto From Abstract Fiber,

in the Bumble pattern.

Jasmin mentions Dr Gemma of the Cogknitive podcast.

 

Jasmin mentions Danie of the Prairie Girls Knit and Spin podcast, who dyes yarn. She ordered yarn from her, to knit the Boxy Chevron sweater by Susanne Sommer out of One Twisted Tree in “Take the Watch”, “Chaotic Neutral” and “Shrewd Lady Mary”.

 

Jasmin mentions the sheep sweaters, the Welcome to the Flock, and Totally Flocked for Genevieve.

 

Gigi finished knitting her shawl from the Knitalong! This is a design from Romi Hill with yarn from Lorna's Laces  String Quintet kit. It is the #3PartHarmonyKal!. You can find details in our ravelry thread. Gigi was using Knitters Pride needles and cables, using the iPad for the chart with  the Goodreader app.

 

Gigi found some finished blanket square that need to be blocked to a ten inch size . She talked to Bethany from the Backstage Knitting podcast about sizing for squares.

 

Jasmin is making good progress on her Vanilla is the New Black socks in Knitmona "Creepy Crawlers" self-striping. Gigi cast on a  pair of Vanilla is the New Black out of Regia in an ombre stripe on Sock Rockets.

 

Gigi is knitting a Barley hat out of Alpenglow Yarn . Sam asked for a hat to match his beard and we are looking for the right yarn. Gigi finished another shark colored baby hat in Shark's colors.

Jasmin pulled out a sweater out of the UFO area, the Little Pole, which she is knitting on Knitters Pride Zing Needles. Gigi mentions the Knitters Pride Nova needles. And Jasmin loves their color coded cables.

 

Gigi was making Pops out of Tess yarn for the Pop blanket. So far done:

The neon green, yellow, tomato red, orange, petroleum blue, dark lavender and sapphire blue are done.  She was working on teal. Two more colors are left. She ran out of background grey. (This project is on hold until we get more yarn.)

Gigi messed up the #3partharmonyKAL. Purling on a knit row. Tink!

 

Also, she ran short of main color, and had to leave out last three rows before bind off. She  had to tink back the bind off row.

 

Jasmin found that she should administer fish oil pills AFTER knitting.

 

Gigi blocked her giant Aeolian shawl.  she looked at finished projects on ravelry and decided to block it with 5 points. She used blocking wires. Stretched it as far as she could. The shawl did not cooperate with having each tip blocked into 5 points

 

She had started a U turn sock out of Patons Kroy.  Yarn needed a plainer pattern. Frogged!
