Jasmin just needs to do the grosgrain ribbon and buttons on the Sideways Dude cardigan out of Dragonfly Fibres Traveller in “Horton Hears a Who”.

 

Gigi is working on the body of the Sidewalk sweater. . She is getting close to the hem, and needs to do ribbing next. Jasmin is really excited by how well it fits.

 

Jasmin is working on the raglan decreases on the Lionheart sweater for Rex out of Abstract Fiber Calder in “diversity” and “saffron”. Also, she has made a little progress on the Hearthstone pullover by Ysolda Teague in Twisted Owl “Eye Searing Pink”.

 

Jasmin has swatched for the Hei Hei sweater for Rex out of Knitmona DK.

 

Jasmin loves the Knitter's Handy Book of Top Down Sweaters,by Ann Budd, Knitters Handy Book of Sweater Patterns, and is hoping Ann Budd will also write the Knitters Handy Book of Side to Side Sweaters.

 

Gigi is working on another Bias Cowl out of yarn by the Neighborhood Fiber Company. Perfect for watching tv. My nap time project.

 

 

Gigi knitted more on the Beastkeeper shawl  with yarn from Twisted Owl Fiber Studio ( correction: Gigi had said Beastmaster). First set of colors is done. She is really enjoying the colors.  

 

Gigi has not finished knitting the preemie beanie, and is working on it.

 

Jasmin has started the first sleeve on the Flirty Berberis as we record.

 

Gigi is working on the instant coffee socks by C.C. Almon, has finished the foot of the second sock. She has started on the heels.

Conquering Mt. Knitmore. Washing sweaters for storage.  She has 12 Sweaters done, 6 more to go.

 

She also wants to block her stash of finished shawls. She also pulled out her Where is the Opaque?

 by Sally Melville, who wrote The Knit Stitch. Jasmin mentions Gertie's dresses, and her Sew-Along. Jasmin mentions Kristen from Voolenvine.

Gigi is planning to sew preemie shirts. She downloaded patterns from twentyfiveandfour.com (patterns range from 1lb to about 7.5 lbs. seven different sizes), printed them out and wants to make plastic templates.

 

Got quilting template sheets to make sturdy patterns. Friend brought me a set of clear plastic cutting boards. Copied patterns on them, and is going to cut them with the all purpose scissors.

Gigi has bound off the Three Color Cowl by Joji Locatelli out of yarn from the Neighborhood Fiber Company, using Jenny's Amazingly Stretchy Bind-off. Needs to be blocked and photographed.

Gigi has been wearing her Quynn hat and the Greyhaven hat which was a gift from Boston Jen.

Rex has also been wearing his Quynn hat, which Laura from the Knit Girllls hat made for Genevieve. Very generously, Genevieve let Jasmin borrow her Hamilton hat.

 

We mention Emily, who designed the Hamilton hat. Jasmin is also thrilled about the Goodreader app

 

Gigi has pulled all her woolens out of her closet, to wash before storing them. She has set up an assembly line system.

 

Conquering Mt. Knitmore. Gigi has a routine going. Ideally, very day, wash one piece in Soak, spin in washing machine, lay flat to dry. Afterwards, they need to be Gleenered.  She has 11 Sweaters done, 7 More to go. She also wants to block her stash of finished shawls.

Jasmin is working on a Sideways Dude cardigan, and likes it so much, she is planning  to knit more.

She has finished the sleeves and is crocheting the edge on the Sideways Dude cardigan out of Dragonfly Fibres Traveller in “Horton Hears a Who”.

Gigi has finished the knitting on the Three Color Cowl by Joji Locatelli out of yarn from the Neighborhood Fiber Company, and only needs to bind off.

 

 

She also mentions using Plum Deluxe Tea in an unconventional way.

 

Gigi is working on the body of the Sidewalk sweater.  Try-it- on tubing. She did waist decreases and now is doing hip increases . And it is heavy . Jasmin is thinking of making one, steeking it and either Anna Zilborg's buttonhole or Ysolda Teague's buttonhole.

Gigi pulled out the bin with hats from Fleece Hat Friends that she had started ages ago.

Got a bag of new fiberfill and is working on eyeballs. Machine basting does not give good results. She switched to doing a running stitch by hand.

While we record, Jasmin is swatching with Sublime by Black Trillium Fibre for a yet to be determined sweater.

 

She is working on a Sideways Dude and likes it so much, she is planning  to knit more.

 

She is making concept drawings for a Te Fiti sweater. She has mini skeins from Twisted Owl that will be perfect. She also is planning a Moana Sweater. 

 

Jasmin has finished the sleeves and joined them to the body on the Lionheart sweater for Rex out of Abstract Fiber Calder in “diversity” and “saffron”.

 

She reminisces about big skeins from Abstract Fiber.

 

Gigi is working on the Three Color Cowl by Joji Locatelli out of yarn from the Neighborhood Fiber Company, and has only needs to bind off.

 

Jasmin has joined the side seams and started the first sleeve on the Sideways Dude cardigan out of Dragonfly Fibres Traveller in “Horton Hears a Who”.

Jasmin has made some progress on the Hearthstone pullover for Genevieve out of Twisted Owl Fibers “eye searing pink”.

 

Gigi has finished the sleeves of the Sidewalk sweater. Try-it- on tubing. She did twisted stitches for cuffs. She shortened the sleeves. And it is heavy .

 

Jasmin has closed the first end of the La Belle et la Bete cowl from Little Skein in the Big Wool.

This week for Mother Knows Best, we talk about adapting a yarn with a gauge different from the pattern, using a Percentages/proportion system of pattern changing. Jasmin mentions her Katarina.

 

When Knitting Attacks:(48:05)

Gigi couldn't find her bias loop cowl, that was hiding in plain sight, but it finally turned up

She needed to do the kitchenering on it. It is done looser than on a sock, and she kept fighting with it. Also, it was not as smooth as she would have liked.

 

Dogs help with Rex's sleeves that Jasmin was knitting.

 

Gigi was working on the 3 color cowl. She counted all the stitches, and had one too many.
She found a split a stitch two rows down, she also had dropped a stitch, and laddered that up

This week we are purloining "Pattern Stalking" from the Yarniacs, hosted by Gayle and Sharlene.

Gigi is looking for a plain, polished and understated cardigan, to knit her Portwine colored yarn from Abstract Fiber.
