Lo-Lo Baby, available in Soft Vanilla, Lavender Dreams, and Plain and Simple has been a big hit among OBGYN staff, new moms, daycare personnel, and men over 60. A swipe on the diaper area, a bit for massage, or something to help with cradle cap we understand but why are men buying this?  So we asked…we had to. And they told us. They are buying Lo-Lo Baby and using it for itch, heat, and chafing in their southern hemisphere. We pressed on with our somewhat awkward questions and we found out that while they loved Lo-Lo Baby, they wanted two things to be different, the label and a cooling element. Along came Southern Comfort.  Don’t let the moustache on the label lead you think it’s only for men.  Women are buying it as well.  And yes, we asked.  And we were told they're using it for the same reasons, through they used different words like, friction and rash. Southern Comfort is ideal for those that bike (pedal or motor), those that wear skirts and no pantyhose, and those that could just use some comfort in their Southern Hemisphere. Southern Comfort is for external use only. To buy local, visit www.bar-maids.com or purchase on-line.

#podcasterthrowdown: Jasmin talked to Cascade Yarns, and they offered to cover shipping for the hats from the Santa Clara Convention Center to various cancer centers.

Jasmin has cast on the "Measure of Love" hat for the throwdown, in Cascade Yarns Cash Vero.

Also, Cascade Yarns is supporting our Head to Toe Project, where we knit preemie hats out of sock yarn for our local Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Do you have a favorite fall scent? We know that Bar-Maids customers do. Nine years as a top seller, Betty Boo, is a mix of bitter orange and orchid. Sounds a bit floral – right? But Betty is NOT floral…she’s actually quite spicy.  Little Pumpkin has very devoted fans with its fresh from the oven top notes of buttery pumpkin not to be outdone by those middle notes of clove and allspice.  Hot Toddy, introduced last year, was such a hit that he’s back. Hot buttered rum – oh yum!  Queen’s Bun’s, a custom scent made exclusively for Jimmy Bean’s Wools last year can only be described as  cinnamon buns fresh from the oven and delicious enough for royalty.  If your local store doesn’t have these in stock, ask them to special order them for you. Otherwise, order on line at www.bar-maids.com

This week's episode is sponsored by:

This week's episode is sponsored by:

 bar maids

Along came Southern Comfort.  Don’t let the moustache on the label lead you think it’s only for men.  Women are buying it as well.  And yes, we had to ask.  And we were told they are using it for all the same reasons through they used different words like, friction and rash. Southern Comfort is ideal for those that bike (pedal or motor), those that wear skirts and no pantyhose, and those that could just use some comfort in their Southern Hemisphere. Southern Comfort is for external use only. To buy local, visit www.bar-maids.com or purchase on-line.

Gigi has finished  knitting the Hitchhiker for the #behmalong. Jasmin also finds Martina Behms patterns highly addictive. She has been working almost exclusively on her Brickless.

Jasmin's Leftie kit from Miss Babs came in the mail, and she is thrilled.  Gigi has also been working on her Leftie and always wants to do "one more row!". Gigi is also working on the Brickless.

Gigi is also working on two pairs of Mojo socks, and at the Purlescense yarn swap, she picked up yarn to finish some UFO Something Fishy socks. Finding sew-on googlie eyes proved a problem.

Jasmin also scored a Jacob fleece at the yarn swap, and will send it to Sherri from Morro Fleece Works to process.

Jasmin also started Everlapse clips for #operationsockdrawer. Add your clips to the mix!

Jasmin thinks we should knit a Hitch hat for the Behmalong. For the Halos of Hope Jasmin mentions Everlapse, so everyone on Team Knitmore can see pictures of finished projects.

How do you mark the end of summer?  Is it when the kids go back to school, the leaves turn red/orange/yellow, or is it marked by fewer tourists and seasonal residents in your favorite place? In the Pacific Northwest where we can pretty much count the days of summer days on two hands, blackberries have a heavy scent that seems to hang in the air, most trees are at least half red/orange/yellow, and activity at the local fiber stores picks up. At Bar-Maids, the end of summer is marked by the flood of requests for fall scents.  The favorites, Betty Boo, Little Pumpkin, Hot Toddy and the exclusive scent made for Jimmy Bean’s Wool’s, Queen’s Buns are now in-season. Bar-Maids also has three new fall scents that are sure to be big hits. Deep Forest is a warm, rich bay berry scent. Spiced Fig can only be described as clove stuffed fruit; complex but brings feelings of being safe, secure and loved. You can also get the Lo-Lo Body Bar and To-Go bar in Winter’s Bliss which evokes a mild sweetness with faint fresh evergreens. How do you mark the end of summer? Order an in-season scent from Bar-Maids and transition into Fall.

Do you know about  Lo-Lo EO's?  EO's (essential oils) are natural compounds derived from plants, that have powerful biochemical compositions which often stimulate our brain, affecting mood and well being.  Like you and me,  Lo-Lo EO’s are a wondrous mixture of individual qualities, some very bold and assertive, others showing a softer, gentler face.  By applying specific EO’s or blends, you choose  the way want your mood affected.  When EO’s are combined with Bar-Maids soothing combination of  natural oils and butters, you have an amazing Lo-Lo experience. EO’s are powerful, and respecting them is appropriate. With that in  mind, do you want to relax, rejuvenate, or recharge? It's all up to you. Lo-Lo EO’s are available in the Body Bar, To-Go Bar, O’ for Feet Sake, Lip Balm, and Cuticle Intensive.

Lo-Lo EO’s are available in the Body Bar, To-Go Bar, O’ for Feet Sake, and Lip Balm, and Cuticle Intensive.

She is working on the Celaeno by Romi Hill and discovered that she had too many stitches in her lace.  And after knitting some more on lace where she had messed up, she finally decided that she needs to pull back a few rows.

OMG! Have you seen the Twisted Lights from Bar-Maids? Let me shed some light on this ( pun intended). Twisted Lights are the most incredible beeswax candle with a very long burn time. For example, the smaller of the Twisted Lights available, burns for approximately 20 hours!  But here is what sets these apart from other candles, Twisted Lights look exactly like balls of yarn. I actually thought it was a ball of yarn only to then think that they actually dipped a ball of yarn in some wax, it looks that real! Like your yarn in different colors? Twisted Lights come in just as many amazing colors and 100% local  beeswax. Bar-Maids does not use any additives or hardeners in their candles, nor do they coat their mold with a toxic mold release or spray. Just a hypoallergenic candle that is easy on the respiratory system and will not make you sneeze. The only wax that is proven to be nontoxic is 100% beeswax. Get your Twisted Light at www.bar-maids.com.

Today, I'm going to talk about O'for Feet Sake by Bar-Maids. Whether sandals season is in your world  10 days a year or 365, are your feet in sandal season condition - soft and supple or do they snag the sheets? I know a pair that is so rough they would make a good back scratcher if I let them near me. We all know there are hundreds of thousands of "in need of some serious help" feet walking around out there. O'for Feet Sake! Silence those dogs, tame those trotters, soften those shufflers. It matters not if a pair is the problem or an independent -one, they need O'for Feet Sake by Bar-Maids. Using the perfect combination of skin loving oils (including essential oils), butters, and ingredients ideal for feet, will being  amazement - and sooner than expected.  O’For Feet Sake, a solid foot moisturizer, also comes with a proven foot recipe. Follow the recipe and in less than two weeks time feet will be happy and soft. Purchase O'For Feet Sake at www.bar-maids.com and choose between Soft Vanilla or Peppermint Plus.

While winter brings feeling of nesting or hunkering down, it also means a picking up a piece or two of handcrafts. The oven works overtime for those holiday family favorites, quilters stitch just a tad faster to complete works of art before gift giving officially opens, and knitters dash to their local yarn store to squeeze in one more scarf or pair of socks for that last minute gift. As you are crafting wonders, Bar-Maids continues to handcraft yummy goodness for your skin ... all to to help you....even if you continue to create into the wee morning hours. Bar-Maids handcrafts their products with natural skin loving oils and butters; everything your skin needs to keep it soft and moisturized and nothing it doesn't. Since you use our hands a tad more in this season, let Lo-Lo help keep them moisturized. It's simple! Get your hands wet, shake the water off and get your Lo-Lo on before you pick-up needle, cookie cutter, or drop spindle.
